A/W Collection 2011: Dolce & Gabbana

The prints with letters create a busy
and eye-catching outfit. I also get an
African feel to the whole thing...
This time I will discuss Dolce & Gabbana's A/W collection. Surprisingly, instead of jumping on the S&M bandwagon, D&G took a completely different take, with bright colours (particularly orange and yellow) with tribal-like prints and printed letters everywhere. The colours combined with the prints are eye-popping, and will certainly cheer anyone up on those dreary winter mornings.
The bright colours and tribal prints feel
more summery than the usual palette
of neutrals and greys for A/W.

Note the chiffon detail
There were some dark colours however, but these too were emphasized with letter prints. There was a chiffon detail in the skirts as well as silk cropped bomber jackets over lycra tube dresses. The whole collection is eighties-inspired, which follows on from this S/S trend of the eighties. However, despite some outfits having a dark palette, D&G didn't make us forget about the splashes of colour with bright, bold accessories.

There is also an element
of informality and fun in the
outfits with converse accessorising
the outfits.

Despite the grey palette in these outfits,
note the bright accessories
and chiffon, that add an
element of fun.
