I am full of ideas today, readers! I have come up with a new idea for a blog post... I will summarize the biggest news in the fashion industry, to save you some precious time wading through it all! So let me begin ;)
The late Alexander McQueen
1. Alexander McQueen's Will has Been Revealed:
The great designer, Alexander McQueen's will have been revealed, and his fashion legacy extends even further. The iconic designer has left most of his wealth to fund bursaries for fashion students. He has also left money for family as well as a trust for his beloved dogs. The will is estimated to be worth around £16 million and the money that has been granted to fund bursaries will make a great difference in paving the way and providing opportunities for those aspiring to break into the fashion industry. His legacy lives on, in more than just his label :)
The iconic red sole
2. Christian Louboutin vs. Yves Saint Laurent:
The case between Christian Louboutin vs. Yves Saint Laurent is still ongoing. Christian Louboutin had taken Yves Saint Laurent to court due to YSL's red soled shoes in their pre-spring/summer 2011-2012 collection. Louboutin saw red (I'm sorry but I had to use that pun!) and claimed it was trademark infringement. However, YSL argued that "no brand should have the 'monopoly on a colour'" (http://www.vogue.co.uk/). However, Louboutin was awarded a patent for the trademark red sole.
3. Online Fashion Week:
Now for some good news! There will be an online fashion week organized by Vogue UK in December. People will be able to buy items online, as well as having access to high fashion tips and will raise some money for charity too! Vogue has said it is planning top-secret fashion offers and exckusive collections, so who knows what to expect!
