A/W 2011 Collection: Miu Miu

Miu Miu may be the sister to Prada, but this collection proves that Miu Miu is not lingering in the shadow of Prada. Peter Pan collars and eighties-style padded shoulders were on dresses and skirt suits, with a demure palette of black and beige and ditsy flower print dresses being a big feature. Despite pencil skirts in the collection, a lot of the skirt suits were quite loose and not very fitted, which were at some points not very flattering, drowning any form of curves. Despite winter often having a much darker palette, the greys and browns were at some points quite dull, and looked like there needed to be a little bit more colour in the outfits. However, the Peter Pan collars are cute and schoolgirl-like, which is a refreshing alternative to the S&M trend taking place.

I do love these dresses, I really like the
Peter-Pan collars and the ditsy flower print.
The print on top of the demure
beige palette lets it stand out.

I love the grey and blue combo with the
Peter Pan collar. It's a much-needed
 splash of colour.

I love the button details on these coats.

  1. Those collars have been used for about the past three seasons, but I agree on the colour. I am always a fan of a good eased sleeve; coats have got some amazing construction.
